Since 1983 Gerald Laing's work has become more objective and he has concentrated on developing a contemporary convention for the depiction of the human figure and using modern techniques to achieve dynamic movement in his sculpture.

Laing has received a considerable number of commissions for both public sculpture and portrait heads, and has also continued refining his studio work.

This image section is quite extensive, so it has been divided into three categories:

Portrait Heads

Public Artworks

Laing often has his castings done locally by Black Isle Bronze, Scotland's leading art foundry started by his son Farquhar Laing. http://www.blackislebronze.co.uk
